The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County was established through the national land grant university system in 1917. We are a non-profit, sub-governmental association conducting research-based programs and services that tackle the major issues affecting Long Islanders.

We are direct partners of government and use multi-disciplinary research to offer localized guidance and solutions. Our top-notch team of 200+ educators, specialists, researchers, and volunteers work in four main program areas: 4-H Youth Development, Community Education, Agriculture, and Marine. Through our relationship with Cornell University and the land grant system, we have access to world-class educational resources, technology, and programming that we are using to build a thriving, healthy, and more inclusive Suffolk County.
